Top 'Flight'??

[edit]

Whats top flight? Why not top 'Tier'?? Better English. Live Liverpool FC entry 92.11.196.211 (talk) 10:23, 5 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

This terminology is common when discussing English football and conforms with language used by the FA Jamifix123 (talk) 03:22, 30 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. - FlightTime (open channel) 14:52, 16 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Can we use British English terminology when describing British football

[edit]

Just read the entry about Arsenal FC. and want to ask if we could use British English sports terminology when referring to British football teams instead of U.S. sports terminology? E.g. "Arsenal have won..." (UK), and not "Arsenal has won ..." (USA). I'm not sure why but I think it's because in common parlance, its the team of players (ie players being plural) that's being referred to, and not the club or team (both singular). Title

[edit]

Can we change the title page to Arsenal Men’s F.C? Apeden56182 (talk) 19:22, 16 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Apeden56182 Men's club is the primary topic, so no need to disambiguate (at this time). —C.Fred (talk) 19:28, 16 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
